The Directorate of Academic Management and Quality Assurance (DMAAC) is a structure of the “Ion Creangă” State Pedagogical University in Chișinău, with the mission of contributing to the efficiency of the teaching process by implementing modern policies and strategies in academic management activity; to ensure the quality of the professional training process within the University; to develop the culture of quality in the university academic environment; to monitor and maintain the quality management system, implemented at the institutional level, operating on the basis of the University Charter and its own Regulations.
DMAAC’s mission is: ensuring a training process and offering quality educational services, by implementing a high-performance academic management, based on quality reference standards, in accordance with the requirements imposed on higher education.
- The efficiency of the didactic process within the university, through the implementation of modern policies and strategies in the academic management activity;
- Ensuring the quality of the professional training process at cycle I (bachelor’s degree) and cycle II (master’s degree);
- Monitoring the dynamics of the student contingent within the university, through constructive and pertinent records;
- Streamlining the initial training of teaching staff, through the qualitative organization of pedagogical practice;
- Documenting the students/graduates of the university, by applying effective management;
- Expanding educational offers, by organizing and monitoring distance education;
- Creating favorable intra-university and external links, for the development of a qualitative didactic process, in a favorable academic environment.
The Academic Management Department is a subdivision directly subordinated to the head of DMAAC and is responsible for organizing and monitoring the study process within the University.
Main duties:
- carrying out activities in order to fulfill the provisions of the normative acts of the Parliament, the Government and the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova, the decisions of the University Senate and of the Board of Administration; of the basic orders and provisions focused on the study process, related to higher education;
- verification of the execution by the university subdivisions of the provisions of the normative acts of the hierarchically superior bodies, of the decisions of the University Senate; To the Board of Administration, regarding the development and improvement of the instructional-educational process, the monitoring of didactic activities and the analysis of the effectiveness of the study process;
- elaboration of normative acts, instructional materials and regulations regarding the organization and development of the study process;
- planning, coordinating and monitoring the study process at the university’s faculties;
- organizing and monitoring the activities of developing new education plans for the first cycle – bachelor’s degree (full-time and part-time education) and the second cycle – master’s degree and their presentation for coordination to the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova;
- the expertise of the activity plans of the departments, the individual plans of the teaching staff and the monitoring of their fulfillment;
- ensuring the annual performance of the activities related to the calculation of the volume of the teaching load;
- monitoring the distribution and fulfillment of didactic norms by the departments and teaching staff;
- coordinating the activities of the departments in order to organize and carry out internships, cycle I, bachelor’s and cycle II, master’s;
- records of the contingent of students of the first cycle – bachelor’s degree (full-time and part-time education) and the second cycle – master’s degree of the compensatory year of foreign students and of orphans and students with special educational requirements;
- organizing the procedure for issuing the residence permit for foreign citizens;
- the preparation of the necessary documents for the issuance of duplicates of bachelor’s/master’s and baccalaureate higher education diplomas;
- organizing and monitoring the procedure for issuing academic certificates and analytical programs, for equating the documents of foreign citizens transferred from other institutions; of equivalency of Transnistrian university diplomas;
- coordinating the activity of perfecting the students’ files and selecting the candidates who meet the conditions for participating in the merit scholarship contests awarded by the Government and various state and private institutions.
The Quality Assurance and Curricular Development Department is a subdivision directly subordinated to the head of the DMAAC, being responsible for coordinating and achieving compliance of the Quality Management System (SMC) with reference standards and running current activities related to quality assessment and assurance at the university level.
Main duties:
- participation in the establishment of reference standards, regarding institutional quality;
- elaboration, implementation of the normative framework, in order to ensure the quality of educational processes;
- maintaining, developing and improving the SMC, at the university level;
- elaboration of process procedures and system procedures, regarding quality assurance;
- development and implementation of quality monitoring and evaluation tools within the UPSC;
- evaluation of the quality of study programs within the UPSC;
- monitoring the activity of Quality Committees, Quality Commissions;
- coordination of internal audit actions, at university level;
- coordinating and/or conducting training for the UPSC academic community, in the field of ensuring and enhancing the quality culture;
- consulting on quality management;
- representing the university in the external evaluation process, with a view to provisional operation authorization and/or accreditation of study programs and/or institutional accreditation;
- UPSC representation in relations with national and international institutions, on quality issues;
- reporting and disseminating the results of the internal and external audit, of the level of implementation of the SMC in the UPSC.
Distance Education Department (DED) is a subdivision directly subordinate to the head of DMAAC, being responsible for the administration and coordination at the university level of study programs, with the form of training – Distance Education, cycle I (Bachelor), cycle II (Master) in cooperation with all faculties.
Main duties:
- the initiation, development and management of study programs, Distance Education at cycle I (bachelor), cycle II (master).
- coordination of all Distance Education activities at the university level to ensure the quality provision of these types of programs;
- ensuring the training of teaching staff in order to carry out distance education;
- training of teaching staff in the field of developing course materials for distance education and other specific support services offered to trainees;
- elaborating and developing courses for Distance Education and ensuring the quality of training materials, with the support of experts in the field;
- providing methodological guidelines for the preparation of didactic materials specific to Distance Education;
- analysis and approval of didactic materials intended for DED study programs;
- coordination, monitoring and verification of training activities specific to DED at the university level;
- ensuring and maintaining the quality of study programs and course materials for DED at the university level;
- carrying out promotional activities for the promotion of study programs with the form of Distance Education.
